If there are penalties that you incur they will be calculated on the total amount due and since you do not owe any money then there is no amount due, therefore there will be any penalties ensued on your IRS tax return. However should you have a balance that is due on a late IRS tax return then you will be charged penalties and interest on the amount that you owe.

Here are three different penalties that you may be charged with:Failure to Pay PenaltyInterestFailure to File Penalty

Each of these penalties are calculated differently. We need to look at each one carefully.

Failure to Pay Penalty

The failure-to-pay penalty that is given out by the IRS will be calculated on any tax that you owe the IRS. The penalty is about 0.5% for every month that the IRS Debt is not paid in full. Keep in mind that with this IRS penalty that there is not a max limit in place for the failure to pay penalty. This particular penalty is calculated from the original April 15th filing deadline and is in place until the last month that IRS Debt balance is paid in full.

Failure to File Penalty

She told me the check was written from my company and was calling to see if it was legitimate. My response was obviously no.I logged onto my account at and saw that one of these counterfeit checks, this one for $ 3,800, had already cleared our company account. I immediately contacted Bank of America and implemented the following:

Closed the 15 year old account.Opened a new account.Got reimbursed by the bank for the full amount of the counterfeit $ 3,800 that had already cleared.Had to scramble to replace two legitimate checks I had written to my vendors that had not yet cleared the bank.Had to change all the ACH accounts I use for automatic funds transfers to and from my business account.Turned the matter over to the F.B.I.Total time impact to me and my company for all of this hassle: about 4 hours.Total dollar cost to me – zero. Bank of America even offered to cover any and all costs I might suffer from returned checked.Apparently, based on the half dozen calls I answered from other check recipients, this crook was trying to buy used cars from listings all over the country – from California to New Jersey to Texas – with all of the prospects for his scam being found on Craig’s List.Unfortunately, the individuals selling their cars are the ones at risk. Bank of America doesn’t appear to have gotten burned by any of these since they simply reversed the deposit on the unsuspecting sellers who deposited the checks in good faith. Hopefully, few if any, sellers sent their titles to the crook and were smart enough to wait until the check cleared the bank and then some.Bear in mind, once the crook has your account information, he almost doesn’t care if the account has no money or is closed. He can still keep issuing counterfeit checks.In doing my own post mortem on how this could have happened, the weak link appears to have been our own company web site. Two of my companies, Ceo Resource and Start Up Company University, have international clients for our consulting that specializes in helping start up companies and their CEOs. As a result, many prefer to wire funds to us instead of using credit cards or mailing checks.Like many companies large and small, we posted wiring instructions at our web site. Part of this wiring instruction includes the account number and the routing number. These two bits of information, along with your company name and address, are all that a crook apparently needs to produce a counterfeit check.If you have this information posted now, I strongly suggest:Do as I have done – and remove that information.

When many think of supercross motorcycle racing, a number of names quickly come to mind. Two of those names include Ricky Carmichael and Jeremy McGrath. Unfortunately, this often leaves out of number of other popular and well performing supercross riders. One of those riders includes Chad Reed. Although he may not be as well known as Ricky Carmichael or Jeremy McGrath, he has earned to right to be known as a popular supercross motorcycle rider.

What is unique about Chad Reed, when compared to other professional supercross motorcycle racers, is that he is not American born. Instead, Reed was born in Australia. In fact, that is where he got his start in supercross motorcycle racing. Fortunately, for Chad Reed, supercross motorcycle racing is just as popular in Australia as it is in the United States. After successfully winning the Australian Supercross Championship, Reed made the move to the European Supercross Series.

Not long after his move the European Supercross Series, Chad Reed finally made the move to the United States; a move that he had been dreaming of since his rise in supercross popularity. Once in the United States, Chad Reed joined Team Yamaha. During this time, he was crowned the East Coast Supercross Champion. The East Coast Supercross Championship would not be the only highlight of Chad Reed’s career, in fact, he went on and still continues to rack up the wins.

Although Chad Reed rocketed to superstar status with supercross racing, it hasn’t always been easy sailing. For instance, in 2003, it was anticipated that he would win the championship. This is because he won a large number of races, when compared to the other top competitors. However, Reed was unable to hold off his competitor, Ricky Carmichael. During the last round of the championship, he ended up loosing the championship to this other popular and highly recognized supercross motorcycle racer.

Once again, in 2006, Chad Reed suffered disappointment at the hands of Ricky Carmichael. After suffering a painful shoulder injury, he was unable to race at the best of his ability. Despite this painful injury, he was still able to successfully compete in supercross racing. In fact, he almost won the 2006 championship, but, once again, the championship went to Ricky Carmichael. Although Chad Reed did not win the AMA Supercross Championship as he had intended to do, he did come in a close second. It is reported that he only lost by two points.

In the off-season, he enjoys participating in water sports, playing blackjack, and golfing. It has been said that he doesn’t necessarily consider supercross motorcycle racing as a job.
